The Disney method is a creativity technique based on the concept of role-playing.
You move one after the other into one of three roles:
The dreamer: The dreamer generates and plays with ideas without worrying about
their feasibility - "Everything is allowed!". He orients himself to the future and
potentials or possibilities.
The Realist: The realist is oriented to the current situation and seeks to practice
pragmatic options without criticism. He thinks about what things to do, what
resourcesare already available and what resources are still available.
The Critic: The Critic thinks Strengths and Weaknesses of Ideas. He tries to identify
aspects that have not been thought of yet and wonders what else could be
improved.
The core idea of the Walt Disney method is to think about a problem or a question from
the perspective of all three roles, generate and refine ideas. It starts with the dreamer and
designs without valorizing visions and ideas. The resulting ideas are then transformed in
the role of the realist to become ambitious but actionable activities or concepts. The
activities and concepts are then re-examined in the role of the critic. The resulting
questions and weaknesses are then "passed on" to the dreamer again.
This cycle can be repeated until the result meets the requirements and goals set or no
new relevant results are generated.
